Q. When is the Race?
A. The Race will be held on September 10, 2017. Click for the Race Day schedule.
Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Race will be held at the Garden of the Gods/Rock Ledge Ranch. Click for the map.
Q. How much is the registration fee?
A. Adults – $35 for online registration (add $5 on Race Day)
Child 5-15yrs – $15 for online registration (add $5 on Race Day)
Child 0-4yrs – $0, but registration is required
All shirts/race packets will be mailed this year.
Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will get a Race bib, a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® t-shirt, and a great feeling!
Q. How can I register?
A. You can register online by clicking here. You can also register offline by downloading this form and mailing it with payment to 411 Lakewood Circle, Suite B107, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. You may also register in-person prior to or on Race Day. In-person registration will take place atChapel Hills Mall (south side between Dick’s Sporting Goods and Macy’s) from Wednesday, September 6 through Friday, September 8 from 10.00 to 6 PM.
Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt? Where do I get In Honor Of back signs?
A. If you did not pay to have it mailed, then click for packet pickup information. Special pink In Honor Of back signs will be available at the Registration and Survivor tents on Race Day and at the Race Store prior to the Race.
Q. Does someone not running or walking have to register?
A. Everyone coming to the Race must register, even if they do not plan to walk or run.
Q. Can I come as a spectator?
A. Everyone coming to the event must register.
Q. How long is the Race? How difficult is the course?
A. The Race is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. The course is rolling hills and the first 3/4 mile is a steady incline. There is also a shorter route option (approximately 1 mile and less of an incline). Watch for the U-turn sign. You may choose to walk or run either route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen Colorado South Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, click here.
Q. Is it okay to bring a jogging stroller?
A. If you bring a stroller, then you should park in the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood. We do not have room for strollers in the busses used at the other parking areas. For the safety of all participants please remain at the back of the pack on the course, and please be careful not to run into other participants with your stroller.
Q. Are pets allowed at the event?
A. No pets, other than leashed service animals, are allowed on the course on Race Day. Instead, please register for Pooches in Pink held the day before the Race. Learn more at Pooches in Pink.
Q. What about radio headsets, rollerblades, inline skates, and bicycles?
A.For the safety of all participants, radio headsets, roller blades, inline skates, and bicycles are not allowed on the Race course.
Q. What if the weather is bad?
A. This event will occur rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. There will be no refunds.
Q. Can I set up a booth to sell items and raise money for Komen?
A. Komen requires 100% of the proceeds go to the Race. Call Nancetta at 719.632.8887 to make arrangements.
