First MORE THAN PINK Heroes named

Susan G. Komen names first MORE THAN PINK Community Hero!

Last summer, Susan G Komen announced a nationwide BOLD GOAL – to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the US by 2026.

As part of that BOLD GOAL they wanted to recognize and honor all of those MORE THAN PINK Heroes who have helped us get as far as we have.

Our first MORE THAN PINK Community Hero is a lady whose name comes up every time Komen Colorado South is mentioned.

Throughout her career, she has been interested in breast cancer, finding it very challenging and rewarding to help women through what can be a very difficult time.  Her involvement with Komen began 22 years ago when she came to Colorado Springs.  She has seen firsthand the impact Komen has on the management of breast cancer, both in terms of better treatment and improved survival.  Many of her patients over the years have benefitted from the screening and treatment support programs Komen Colorado South has funded.

Many of you have been her patient, some of you work with her, and we all hold her dear in our hearts.
